Clinical Research

Physicians who choose to practice medicine in academic settings are often drawn to the opportunities to conduct clinical research as part of their health care services to patients. Accessing colleagues conducting studies in related specialties and managing clinical trials in their own area of expertise gives medical school faculty many more treatment options to pass along to patients. At IU School of Medicine, physicians across every medical specialty are advancing detection and treatment through clinical trials and related studies.

Participate in Clinical trials

Participating in clinical trials can provide access to new approaches to manage disease and make a life-saving difference in the lives of other people.

Why Participate?

What is Clinical Research?

Clinical research is often referenced as a clinical study or clinical trial, and these research programs depend on human volunteers willing to be observed closely to answer questions concerning disease identification, treatment and management. There are different types of clinical trials. Some need volunteers with specific illnesses and some need healthy volunteers. Some examine the effects of a new drug, vaccine or treatment; others examine large populations in natural settings. Learn more about IU School of Medicine clinical trials.
