Bio

Dr. Amanda LaPorte was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame before returning to Florida for medical school at the University of Florida. During medical school, Amanda had the unique opportunity to travel to Haiti as part of a medical mission trip, which inspired her to become an obstetrician-gynecologist. She also completed a Master of Public Health degree and a research project evaluating access and barriers to oral health care for pregnant women. She is passionate about reducing health disparities and improving maternal health outcomes. Amanda is very excited to return to Indiana and continue her training at IU!

Fun Facts: Amanda ran her first marathon in 2019. Her favorite food is tacos. She grew up with dogs and hopes to adopt one of her own soon!

Hobbies: long-distance running, kayaking, yoga, baking desserts for her family, and traveling to new places.
