Bio

Dr. Awais Ahmed completed his medical school education from Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad, Pakistan. He went on to pursue Internal Medicine residency in Ohio at CMEF, Northeast Ohio Medical University. Subsequently completed fellowships in Gastroenterology and Medical Pancreatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. He joined the Gastroenterology program at Indiana University as Assistant Professor to pursue his clinical and research interests in benign pancreatic disorders, including acute and chronic pancreatitis, autoimmune pancreatitis, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, and cystic conditions of the pancreas. Additionally, he focuses on managing general GI disorders, providing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services, including colorectal cancer screening.
