Bio

Dr. Heidi Alvey is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She specializes in emergency and critical care medicine. Dr. Alvey completed her undergraduate education at Marquette University and went on to medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. After graduation, she entered residency training in emergency medicine followed by a critical care (IM) medicine fellowship, both at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Through her time in medicine, Dr. Alvey developed a focus on the application of critical care therapies in the emergency setting after seeing that early, aggressive care gives critically ill patients the best chance to recover. Her other clinical interests are shock, resuscitation, cardiac arrest, mechanical support devices, and ECLS/ECPR. Dr. Alvey also enjoys teaching the next generation of medical professionals. She sees patients at Methodist Hospital in both the emergency department and critical care units.
