Bio

I completed medical school in my home country of Egypt, but searching for a better opportunity led me to gain multi-national experience when I went to Qatar and practiced and learned medicine in one of the i-ACGME accredited residency programs. Eventually, I went to the US, where research opportunities and clinical trials are more evolving and dynamic, to pursue my goal of becoming a transplant oncologist. My passion for learning drove me to earn different clinical experiences throughout my time in the US; first, I attended different clinical rotations at Texas Medical Center, then completed my residency training at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Afterward, I landed at Indiana University for my fellowship. I am excited to work at IU Simon Cancer Center, one of only 51 NCCI centers in the US where cancer prevention, clinical experience, and research meet the highest standards. Now, I plan to pursue malignant hematology and SCT as a career pathway, and later down the road, I plan to explore any possible opportunities to implement NCI cancer clinical trials in developing countries. In my free time, I love baking and reading mystery novels. Also, I love to spend Saturday nights watching a movie with my family while eating air-fryer-made buttery popcorn.
