Bio
Dr. Bhakta is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He completed a residency in internal medicine from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases and cardiac electrophysiology from the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bhakta has many clinical interests including cardiac arrhythmias, supraventricular tachycardia and catheter ablation of SVT, cardiac arrest/sudden cardiac death, risk stratification for sudden cardiac death, implantable cardiac device therapy (pacemakers, ICD, biventricular devices), and diagnostic features of implantable cardiac devices. His research interests involve non-invasive arrhythmia localization, features of SVTs, predictors of sudden cardiac death/ventricular arrhythmias, and diagnostic features of implantable cardiac devices. Dr. Bhakta is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and American College of Cardiology, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society.
