Bio
Dr. Santhosh Kumar Pasupuleti received his PhD degree in Biotechnology from Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences University, India. In his doctoral training, he expertized in human hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and studied the differentiation of erythrocytes, platelets, and hepatocytes from human HSCs. Also, studied drug-resistant BCR-ABL mutant patients with chronic myeloid leukemia as well as polycythemia vera and congenital erythrocytosis. Dr. Pasupuleti further pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics, IU School of Medicine, Indianapolis, where he studied the role of pre-leukemic or clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) associated mutations (i.e: Dnmt3a, Asxl1, Tet2, and Jak2) in the development of clonal hematopoiesis (CH) or full-blown leukemia such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or severe forms of myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) in the background of obesity and/or diabetes. Dr. Pasupuleti is currently Assistant Research Professor, Program in Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Biology, Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research, Indiana University, Indianapolis.
