Bio

Dr. Szatkowski is a dual fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma and foot and ankle surgeon who specializes in preventing or reducing permanent disability in the most complex orthopaedic cases. Dr. Szatkowski treats patients for various orthopaedic needs such as simple and complex fractures, post-traumatic arthritis, revision surgery and joint replacement surgery (including hip and ankle). Whenever possible, he offers minimally invasive surgical techniques, which help avoid complications and reduce patient recovery times

He has co-authored multiple articles in scientific journals. His efforts to improve care for patients include his work helping develop new medical technologies and is actively involved in multiple research projects targeted at improving orthopaedic care.

Dr. Szatkowski is passionate about providing the highest quality of care possible with open, honest communications with patients; treating the patient as an entire person, rather than just the immediate medical problem. Dr. Szatkowski looks at each patients from a global perspective to best understand their issues, their condition and ultimately how they can be treated most effectively.

Dr. Szatkowski studied at Duke University as a undergraduate. He attended medical school at University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota; and fellowships in orthopaedic trauma at Campbell Clinic-University of Tennessee and foot and ankle at Campbell Clinic-University of Tennessee. 

He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
