Bio

Having been a staff member in the PICU prior to the inception of 24/7 coverage, Dr. Laura Pacholski has been involved in the growth of an ICU that provides care for patients amongst the highest level of acuity in the nation. Working nights, she demonstrates the ability to effectively and safely triage, prioritize, and manage children in several areas of the hospital: including the patients already in the PICUs, patients with decompensation on the wards, patients initially stabilized in the Emergency Room but with critical illness, and those requiring transfer to our institution from outside facilities. This has allowed her to continue to expand her knowledge and critical care skills in a busy setting. She provides consistent, accessible support to resident physicians and ancillary staff to maximize their learning experience while giving the best possible patient care. Dr. Pacholski prides herself on effectively and compassionately communicating with parents to improve their confidence and understanding in the treatment of their critically ill child.
