Meet Mary Rouse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWms0tBnVzs
For over 30 years, Dr. Rouse has provided comprehensive medical, nutritional and psychological care to patients with eating disorders. She also mentors others and provides training for medical residents on the treatments and effects of eating disorders who otherwise would not receive such practical and comprehensive information on this psychiatric illness that has the highest mortality rate. Recognizing this challenge and lack of effective options, Dr. Rouse established Eating Disorders Center of Indiana, and later the IU Health Charis Center for Eating Disorders. With help from Clarian Health Partners and Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Rouse helped start the only Partial Hospital Program in Indiana. With a staff of over 20 clinicians the IU Health Charis Center serves children, adolescents and adults with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, and related disorders. Dr. Rouse continues her efforts to enhance the knowledge, develop the training, access the treatments and care for these individuals so desperately needing help. Not willing to stand by and avoid this often dangerous, and generally misunderstood illness, Dr. Rouse has successfully made a vital impact on the health of Indiana citizens by building comprehensive and cutting edge clinical services (Partial Hospital Programs for adults and adolescents, Intensive Outpatient Programs, outpatient groups along with medical, nutritional and psychological care) that provide care in Indiana and beyond.
