Pancreatic cancer is relatively rare when compared to other cancers, but still the third leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. with one of the lowest survival rates of any cancers. For that reason, much of pancreatic cancer research is dedicated to treating this deadly kind of cancer, including some work being done in the Liu Laboratory for Computational Genomics.
Angela Leddy, who served as an administrative coordinator for many years in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, died unexpectedly June 19, 2022, leaving a vast hole in the hearts of her department family.
A Celebration of Life for Peter J. Roach, PhD, will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Dr. Roach, who passed away on March 11, was an Indiana University Distinguished Professor, IUPUI Chancellor’s Professor and Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at IU School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
The IU School of Medicine Department of Mental Health Services serves as an inclusive and affirming resource for all members of the school community. The department stands in solidarity with all medical students, residents and faculty who live with mental health conditions.
The IU School of Medicine chapter of the national Arnold P. Gold Foundation Gold Humanism Honor Society is one of more than 100 society chapters across the United States. IU School of Medicine’s chapter was established during the 2005-2006 academic year as a means of formally recognizing medical students, residents and faculty who demonstrate exemplary behavior that promotes humanism in medicine.
