Hepatology Clinical Care

Faculty physicians in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology who specialize in hepatology are renowned nationally as leading authorities in the field and are engaged in the comprehensive care of patients with liver disease. Our hepatology team ranks among the nation's largest general hepatology groups, boasting a roster of 18 MDs and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) together providing specialized hepatology care. Raj Vuppalanchi, MD currently serves as the director of hepatology while Marco Lacerda, MD serves as the medical director for the Liver Transplant program. As the only academic hepatology group in Indiana, we endeavor to enhance health care delivery using comprehensive and innovative strategies within both traditional inpatient and outpatient settings.

Focus Areas

As the sole academic hepatology group in Indiana, our physicians and APPs strive to optimize the care of patients with chronic liver disease through the implementation of novel healthcare delivery models. Our faculty lead several clinics dedicated to specific liver diseases that are based on the diverse clinical and research interests of the division.
