Confidentiality

The Center for Medical Genomics releases samples to the owner only: PI or active member of his or her lab.

Data generated is reviewed by personnel in the center for quality control purposes. Data is only sent to the PI or a person they designate. Permission from the PI is required for release of remaining samples or data.

The center uses quality control information from all experiments to track performance and to inform future customers about the usability of a set of samples. The center may ask for information regarding RNA or DNA yields from tissues and permission to use this information for guidance with other investigators.

Accounting requires quarterly reports on partially completed or unbilled experiments; the investigator’s name and status of project completeness are provided. As a CTSI Core, the center is required to provide the name and department of investigators making use of the Core, and a list of publications resulting from Core use. INGEN also requires this type of information for their biannual reports.
