IU Health Methodist Hospital houses one of the largest Neurocritical Care Units in the country, covering the entire spectrum of neurological disorders. Physicians who staff the unit are CAST-certified in Neurocritical Care. This one-year fellowship program provides high exposure to trauma and neurovascular disorders, including aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and intracerebral hemorrhage. The unit is managed with collaboration between neurosurgeons, critical care physicians, and trauma/critical care surgeons. Participating fellows have significant opportunity for clinical research.
Applicants for this neurosurgical fellowship must be residents or graduates of neurosurgical residency programs in the United States that are approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), or of neurosurgical residency programs in Canada that are approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
