Information about the interview process for the Masters in Medical Science program at IU School of Medicine.

Interview Day

A pre-application is required of ALL applicants to verify eligibility. Eligible pre-applicants are invited to officially apply to the program via email within two weeks of submission. Official applicants with completed application materials are periodically reviewed contingent upon the number received. Upon reviewing the official applications, eligible applicants are invited to interview with the MSMS Program Admissions Committee.

On-campus and virtual, full-day interviews are required for each invited applicant and are held monthly from January through April. They include informational sessions, a tour of the IU School of Medicine-Indianapolis campus, meeting with current MSMS students and faculty, and an interview with the Admissions Committee members. Applicants are notified within one week of the committee's decision.

Interview Tips

These tips offer some guidance to make the best possible impression during the admissions interview.

  • Research Indiana University School of Medicine and become familiar with the school and MSMS program.
  • Be professional at all times. Professionalism includes attire, interactions with interviewers, school staff and students—by email, telephone and in-person. The evaluation process is ongoing until a final admission decision has been issued.
  • Applicants invited for an interview must have access to Zoom on laptops, tablets, or mobile devices to participate in the online interview. Ensure that you have reliable internet and that you are in a well-lit space with minimum background noise. It will help test the technology you are using in advance if you may need to troubleshoot.
