Jenny Belsky, DO

Dr. Jennifer Belsky is an attending physician and Director of Pediatric and AYA Lymphoma at Riley Hospital for Children. Dr. Belsky’s clinical focus is treating children and adolescent young adults with acute leukemias and lymphoma, specifically those with higher risk and/or rare malignant hematology. This includes a clinical research career focus on improving the survival and outcomes of patients with acute leukemias, Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and rare lymphoma including peripheral T-cell malignancy.

Dr. Belsky’s research in medical supportive care (cancer control) overlaps with her clinical interests with the overarching goal to improve the comprehensive care of children being treated for cancer. She leads the supportive care efforts for the department and aims to reduce toxicities to enable patients to have a less toxic chemotherapy journey. As part of these initiative, Dr. Belsky conducts research focused on identifying specific needs among patient populations related to acute and long-term toxicities. Her research focuses decreasing pain and improve supportive care options for patients, with special attention to vincristine induced side effects including constipation, and neuropathy. In addition, she recognizes the struggles of accurately quantifying pain and other devastating symptoms in smaller children, and strives to identify biomarkers and improve patient reported outcome measures to provide better care for young children.
