Bio

Dr. Cornett received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of Central Florida in 2015, under the direction of Dr. Dmitry Kolpashchikov. There, his research focused on the development of nucleic acid and protein biosensors. Dr. Cornett received post-doctoral training at the Van Andel Institute under Dr. Scott Rothbart, where he studied epigenetic and chromatin regulation with a primary focus on post-translational modifications.

He joined the faculty of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Indiana University School of Medicine in 2019. His research group develops and applies in vitro and cellular biochemistry, chemical biology, and proteomics approaches to map lysine methylation signaling networks and study the function of lysine methylation on non-histone proteins.
