Bio

Lydia Fischer, MD is from Bluffton, Indiana and obtained her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She will graduate from the IU Triple Board program in 2022.

Why Triple Board at IU?
I’m from northeast Indiana, and though I interviewed extensively for residency, nothing beat the experience and education I knew I could get here at Indiana, so I stayed! The training here is respected internationally in all three specialties, and I can still do all the things I like to do outside of work.

Career Interests:
I’m developing my interests in treating children and teens with chronic illness, as well as young adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities with faculty that are respected on a national level.

Outside of work:
Indy is a place where I can still own a home with a backyard large enough for gardening and my newest hobby- beekeeping. I’ve also got a set of kayaks I love putting into White River. If you want to start a conversation, ask me about urban farming, bees, or pontoon boats.
