Bio

Dr. Andy Lampkins has been a licensed pharmacist for 14 years, and is currently an associate professor in the University of Evansville physician assistant program where he teaches pharmacology, therapeutics, and medical ethics.

Dr. Lampkins’ research uses chemistry as a tool to solve problems in medicine. His group is involved in drug design/discovery, synthesis of bioactive natural products, and new reaction development. Specific research foci include the discovery of new drugs to combat Alzheimer’s disease and the development of “smart” therapeutics that can target, treat, and detect cancer simultaneously.

Dr. Lampkins received his Pharm.D. from Butler University, his Ph.D. in organic and medicinal chemistry from the University of Florida, and completed a Walther Cancer Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Notre Dame.
