Bio

Saul Wilson, MD, is a pediatric neurosurgeon who joined the Department of Neurological Surgery in August 2022. He was previously an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City since 2011. He also served as the department’s associate residency program director. 

Wilson completed his medical training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He finished his first fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery/interventional neuroradiology at Semmes-Murphy Neurologic and Spine Institute in Memphis, TN, followed by a second fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at IU School of Medicine.

He leads the pediatric neurosurgical epilepsy program at Riley Hospital and will also head the pediatric neurosurgery division’s movement disorder and spasticity programs.
