Bio

Dr. Diana Summanwar is from Bogota, Colombia. She was educated at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia finishing her degree in 2003 and she completed her residency at the Indiana University-Methodist Family Medicine Residency in 2011. Throughout her studies and into her professional work, her clinical interests include Pediatric Medicine, Women’s Health, Preventative Care, and Chronic Disease Management. Her research interests include Physician Burnout and the Effects of Meditation in Chronic Disease Management including Addiction. She remains a part of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Indiana Academy of Family Physicians, while also being certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

            Dr. Summanwar is married with three children, enjoys reading, swimming, dancing, and traveling with her family whenever she gets the opportunity. In addition to spending time with her family and her other hobbies, Dr. Summanwar also volunteers giving meditation classes as a meditation instructor.  Family Medicine remains one of her passions, she enjoys being able to provide comprehensive care to patients throughout all phases of life, from conception to the end of life;  making a real impact both on patients and their families and  learning and living with people in their communities.
