David A. Ingram, MD

Dr. David Ingram received his Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies from Brown University, Master’s Degree of Theology/Ethics from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and M.D. Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed a Pediatric Residency and Chief Residency year at the University of California at San Francisco and a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. During fellowship, he was a fellow in the NIH funded Pediatric Scientist Development Program.

Dr. Ingram has published over 100 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. He has served in a variety of roles for numerous scientific meetings and has participated in National Institutes of Health Study Sections. He is a current member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and served as the President of the Society for Pediatric Research from 2012-13.

Dr. Ingram is currently the Chief Medical Executive and Executive Vice President for Indiana University Health. He previously served as Director of the Section of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from 2009-2014 and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children from 2014-2016, and the Chief Medical Officer for Indiana University Health Physicians from 2016-2018.  Dr. Ingram recently served as the President of Indiana University Health Physicians and the Executive Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, Indiana University School of Medicine from 2018-2020.  In this capacity, Dr. Ingram and his executive team led the clinical and financial operations of Indiana University Health Physicians, which employs over 2000 physicians and 800 Advanced Practice Providers.  Indiana University Health Physicians is now one of the largest physician groups in the United States.
