Bio

Dr. Greg Zahn is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine. He started clinic work in 2014 at IU Health Methodist Hospital Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center, one of the highest patient volume departments in the state. 

Dr. Zahn is a native of Indiana. He completed his undergraduate training at Butler University, graduating with a BA in Biological Sciences. He subsequently enrolled at Indiana University School of Medicine to recieve his Doctorate of Medicine in 2011. He went on to complete an emergency medicine residency at Carolinas Healthcare (Atrium) in Charlotte, North Carolina where he was selected as chief resident in 2013. He was recruited back to his native state and accepted the position of Assistant Professor with the Deaprtment of Emergency Medicine in 2014. He earned his board certification the following year. 

Dr. Zahn has twice been selected for the faculty teaching award at Methodist Hospital by the emergency medicine residents. He has a passion for bedside clinical instruction and greatly enjoys working in the unique environement of the emergency department. 

During his time at IU, Dr. Zahn developed an interest in point-of-care ultrasound and pursued a fellowship in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound. His ultrasound fellowship was completed in 2017. He is now a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound where he functions as the Assistant Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound Education. He has utilized this platform to contribute both locally, regionally, and nationally to further expand emergency ultrasound utilization. He enjoys ultrasound education and pushing forward into utilization of electronic resources to expand educational opportunities. 

Dr. Zahn is a proud husband and father of one. He enjoys fitness, travel, and spending time with his family and friends.
