Bio

Dr. Julianne Giust earned her medical degree at IU School of Medicine, trained at Brown University’s Triple Board Residency, and boarded in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has used her integrated training to focus on the complex interplay between chronic medical illness and psychological wellbeing of the pediatric patient/family and systems methods to improve access to mental healthcare for children. From 2010 to 2021, Dr. Giust’s clinical work was in child and adolescent consultation-liaison psychiatry, emergency psychiatry services, access clinic and collaborative care. Additionally, Dr. Giust has trained primary care providers to have increased comfort and evidence based approach to mental health treatment in children through the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Project ECHO.

Dr. Giust has a strong interest in the development and recruitment of future psychiatrists. From 2019 to 2021 she was the Associate Program Director for the IU Triple Board Residency and the IU Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.  Starting in 2021, she has continued these interests through her role as IU School of Medicine Psychiatry Clerkship Director and as lead faculty mentor for medical students interested in psychiatry.
