The Department of Emergency Medicine at IU School of Medicine seeks to recruit a diverse group of residents who aim to become leaders in patient care, education and scholarship.

Resident Eligibility

View the Application Requirements. We review applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). All applications undergo a holistic review process including:
  • Personal statement
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Med School Performance Evaluation (MSPE) and transcript
  • Letters of recommendation
  • USMLE/COMLEX scores

Once applications are reviewed, interviews will be offered.

2022-2023 Application Cycle

All interviews for the Emergency Medicine and Combined Emergency Medicine/Pediatrics Residency programs will be conducted virtually this year. Interview invitations will be sent out via ERAS for a virtual interview day. Applicants will be directed to our virtual platform and have the opportunity to interact with program leadership, faculty and current residents. Multiple interview sessions will be offered to accommodate applicants from different time zones.
