Fourteen IU School of Medicine residents completed the requirements for the interdisciplinary Global Health Pathway (formerly residency track) and received certificates from the IU Center for Global Health Equity this spring.
“Residents in the global health pathway demonstrate an exceptional commitment to learning more about addressing health disparities in Indiana and around the world,” said Jenny Baenziger, MD, associate director of education for the IU Center for Global Health Equity and coordinator of the pathway program. “Through participation in educational conferences, completing an international field elective or local-global health rotation and presenting a scholarly project, these physicians learn about the social, economic, cultural and environmental factors that contribute to health and disease throughout the world,” she continued.
IU’s Global Health Pathway is unique because it welcomes residents from a variety of specialties.
Since its inception, more than 100 residents have completed the pathway requirements. Completing the pathway this year are:

- Matty Hodge (internal medicine)
- Morgan Johnson (medicine-pediatrics)

- Sidrah Najam (psychiatry)
- Trisha Reddy (pediatrics)
- Audra Rougraff (pediatrics)
- Ishani Shah (medicine-pediatrics)
- Leah Stalnaker (pediatrics/psychiatry/child psychiatry)
- Erica Swanson (internal medicine)
- Courtney Welch (medicine-pediatrics)
